Lawmakers might still be a little sore at Gov. John Bel Edwards for calling a second special session just 30 minutes after the ongoing regular session ends Monday evening. The governor, however, may gain a few more points back for what he has planned when the first night of that second special session comes to a close.
Edwards has invited every member of the House and Senate to head over to the Governor's Mansion when they gavel out Monday evening. The only stipulation Edwards offered is that he doesn't want anyone to talk business. That is, he wants a room full of politicians to talk about anything but politics.
The food, drinks and conversation better be good for that kind of directive.
